This briefing is not to be missed!
The specialist Hauliers’ team at HI Commercial will be hosting a quarterly briefing, specifically for haulage and transportation companies, to inform and educate as well as provide networking opportunities amongst fellow business owners.

Date: Wednesday 6 April at 10-11:30.
Venue: Ergo at Bridgehead Business Park, Hessle.

Guest speakers will include Darren Peacock from Peacock Finance, David Spittlehouse, telecoms specialist at Simpatico and our own Director, Luke Byron

Darren helps business owners and property investors find money. He works with a variety of funders, both private and traditional to arrange funding for any commercial purpose.

Operating a fleet of transport vehicles

He understands the highs and lows of operating a fleet with a background in fruit and vegetables and then food wholesale, making deliveries across the Hull and East Yorkshire region. In 2010/11 when the snow refused the thaw, his team could not make the deliveries and they almost had to close the doors on the business. However, they managed to pull it back and over the next couple of years, trebled the business from what it had been.

This steep learning curve on the value of cashflow helped Darren make the decision to set up a commercial finance brokerage. He knows what it’s like to lay awake at night worrying about wolves at the door and says that when the funding is in place, these concerns lift so you can focus on running the business.

From invoice funding and short term bridging loans to commercial mortgages and asset finance, Peacock Finance can help to find the right solution for any type of business.

Dave Spittlehouse has recently franchised his business and says that by simply being nice, trustworthy and dependable, as well as offering a fantastic service has helped to grow their business ten-fold in the past year alone.

Being nice pays

Simpatico is determined to concentrate on attractive pricing, honest communications and ongoing support - rather than eye-catching deals with some nasty small print.

Capturing the perfect photo

Dave is also a sharp (photo) shooter and will be passing on top tips on how to capture great photos of trucks and vehicles, getting the best of a camera phone.

Luke Byron, is a Director here at HI Commercial. The team works with many haulage and transport companies and says that having drivers on the road is likely to be the greatest risk for any business that operates a fleet of haulage vehicles.

Hauliers' Handbook

HI Commercial has created a handbook for HGV and transportation operators which includes tips for drivers, as well as important documents that can be kept inside the vehicle to use in the event of an accident. This will be given to each attendee on the 6 April.
