A new client recently chose to work with HI Commercial after being with the same insurance broker for donkeys years!

Each year they received their renewal quote and just went along with the broker’s advice, feeling that this would have been the best quote available to them.

With a focus on the signage industry, one of our advisors from HI Commercial got in touch with the business owner, two months before their renewal date. In the same way we would manage all clients, old and new, we completed a full fact find - an extensive questionnaire, to cover every area of the business. This includes: a detailed description of the business, employees, machinery, equipment, financials, the premises, health and safety, fire controls, security, covers required, sums insured, business interruption, the fleet, goods in transit, employer’s liability, public liability and claims history.

Armed with all of this information, we then received quotes from a panel of insurers and managed to save this particular business over £8,000 on their previous year’s policy.

The business owner was initially quite surprised that we were being so thorough as their broker would usually just send a renewal without asking for any information. But this also led to disappointment that they hadn’t tried to save them money in the past.

The broker said they would match the quote, but with the trust now gone, they felt much more confident that HI Commercial would be looking after the best interests of their business both now and in the future.

If you continue to renew your commercial insurance policies without providing any updates, you could be either paying more than you need to, or you may be underinsured. Two scenarios we always avoid for our clients.
